Early iPhone prototype picture from 2005 surfaces

In an Ars Technica exclusive, the site has published a photograph of an early iPhone prototype, way before it began to even look like an actual mobile phone, let alone the iPhone we are familiar with today.
The prototype photograph, given by an Apple employee that was present during the early stages of the iPhone development, dates back to about 2005.
As you can see, the screen is pretty huge measuring about 5-inches by 7-inches resembling the iPad Mini but of course without its sleek appearance.
Of the size, the source comments that “at the time it was really impressive seeing basically a version of OS X running on it. ”
The device was also fitted with a number of ports and while Apple never intended on having them on the final device, they were included to make it easier for developers.
