On 26th November Cyber Monday 2012 became the largest day of online sales in history.
Cyber Monday, coined in 2005 by Shop.org, is the biggest online discount day of the year held the Monday following Thanksgiving in the US. While originally an American sales day, the trend has begun to go global with Cyber Monday events being held in over 100 countries in 2012 leading to a 300% increase in online sales outside the US. Overall, Cyber Monday is growing at breakneck speed, reaching $1.98 Billion in 2012.
