Steam drops Ubisoft titles in the UK?

Two Ubisoft titles, the fantastic Assassin’s Creed II and submarine sim Silent Hunter V are no longer available on the UK servers of Steam, Valve Software’s content delivery service.
CVG cites an unnamed source who claims that the move is a reaction to Ubisoft’s new strongarm DRM regime. No official news has been heard from either Steam or Ubisoft.
Update: Ubisoft has said that the occurence “has nothing to do with the DRM but is linked to a local business discussion between Ubisoft and Steam in UK.” Make of that what you will…
South African gamers will be pleased to note that they can still buy both games from Steam’s US servers.
