Reddit, the social news site, is nearing completion of their next version. They still have a short list of items to resolve, but it should be pretty much complete this week. Early next week they will begin exposing the new system to its users and do some limited testing. Since they basically rewrote most of the Reddit system, they will go through a period of testing and allow its users to bang on the new system before they flip the switch.
The site has always lurked in the shadow of Digg and even launched a few weeks after the number one social news site. Hopefully the new version of the site can push it into the lime light.
