While these displays will enhance functionality, Meta is not expected to transform Ray-Ban glasses into full-fledged mixed-reality devices anytime soon. The current generation of Ray-Ban smart glasses has garnered significant success, largely due to their stylish design and seamless integration of features like in-ear speakers, cameras, microphones, and access to Meta’s virtual assistant.
The addition of displays raises questions about maintaining the current model’s minimalist aesthetic. Concerns exist that displays could hinder the device’s ease of use, particularly for tasks like capturing quick photos and videos, one of the current model’s key strengths.

It remains to be seen how Meta will balance added functionality with the sleek, minimalist design that has contributed to the success of the current Ray-Ban smart glasses.
