Recent briefings with publishers reportedly revealed the shift in the launch date from late 2024 to early 2025. Sources indicate that developers are now working on Switch 2 games with planned releases in early 2025. Among these titles, the highly anticipated Metroid Prime 4 stands out, although it still lacks a specific release date.
Earlier this month, Nintendo revised its fiscal 2024 Switch sales forecast slightly upward, from 15 million to 15.5 million units, compared to 18 million and 23 million in 2022 and 2021, respectively. Reuters reported that Nintendo’s stock dipped today in response to the release delay rumours.
Details about the upcoming device, including its name, remain scarce.
