Elden Ring wins prestigious Game of the Year

At the Game Awards, held in Los Angeles on December 8th, Elden Ring by FromSoftware walked away with the top prize of Game of the Year. The coveted prize was accepted by the game’s director, Hidetaka Miyazak, who thanked the development team at FromSoftware as well as George R.R. Martin, who was the person behind the story and lore.

Other games nominated in the Game of the Year section included A Plague Tale: Requiem, God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. God of War Ragnarok received the most nominations of any game, totalling ten, with Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West both receiving seven nominations.

It also won some other prizes, including Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best Role-Playing Game. Here is a full list of all the winners:
