The range isn’t close to that of an internal combustion engine car yet, which leads to the so-called range anxiety many electric vehicles owners experience. For short, daily commutes to and from work or to the shops, electric vehicles are ideal. But the inconvenience of short ranges and long charge times still prohibited their purchase for many. While the current lithium-ion battery technology is progressing quickly, many believe the technology need to move to the next level and many see that as being solid-state batteries. Nissan has revealed a prototype production facility in Yokohama, Japan where it plans to produce this next step of battery technology for its upcoming electric vehicles.
