LG partners with Spotify & local personalities

Music is something that almost anyone can relate to no matter the genre and taking that to a slightly different level is LG and Spotify. Specifically, the Korean tech giant has partnered with five South African personalities and gamers to bring fans the ultimate party, gaming, and workout playlists on Spotify. So if you’ve ever wondered which songs keep rugby captain Siya Kolisi motivated for instance, now’s your chance to find out.

With the popular music app coming standard on the LG webOS, LG is excitedly also treating consumers with up to four months of Spotify Premium when they purchase any of their XBOOM Go PL2, PL4 or PL7, or LG TONE Free FN4, FN6 or FN7 wireless headsets from now until August 31, 2021. Find out about that here.

LG recently celebrated the launch of their 2021 home entertainment line-up, showcasing cutting-edge developments in the TV and sound space – from AI-powered software upgrades to a whole new generation of OLED display technology: OLED Evo. Other head turners during the launch were the brand’s soundbars, TONE Free earbuds, and XBOOM Go Bluetooth speakers.

While on the subject of sound accessories, studies have shown that earbuds can harbour more bacteria than a kitchen cutting board, but with LG’s TONE Free earbuds (which we are currently running an exciting giveaway around), you don’t have to worry about that. Unlike any other pair of headphones on the market, the TONE Free FN6 and FN7 are equipped with a UVnano charging cradle that kills 99% of bacteria in ten minutes while charging.

LG’s TONE Free App makes listening to music on its innovative wireless headsets seamless, allowing you to effortlessly adjust the Meridian EQ to match your musical taste. You can also change the volume of your ambient surroundings, have your messages read to you without using your phone, and locate each individual earbud using Find My Earbuds. With seven hours of battery life in the earbuds and an extra 14 hours in the charging case, you won’t have to stop the music.

Back to the original subject around their partnership, to celebrate their innovative sound technology, LG asked five South African personalities to curate and share playlists on Spotify to bring the beats to fellow music lovers:

  • Siya Kolisi, the legendary Springbok rugby captain and LG ambassador, has put together his own must-hear playlist. With this playlist, Siya is letting us into some of the secrets behind his success, adding that “these are the songs that keep me motivated during a workout or focused before a big game.” Listen to Siya’s playlist here
  • Jessica Nkosi, award winning South African actor and TV presenter, put together a playlist she describes as “a mix of what keeps me going when I exercise, especially while getting in my cardio. It’s inspired by some of my favourite South African artists, and it’s a total mood lifter, so it’s also perfect to play before going out with friends.” Listen to Jessica’s playlist here
  • Inspired by his new favourite game on Xbox – Football Manager 2021 – Glenn Alexander, gamer and Xbox ambassador, made his playlist a collection of some of the more famous songs and anthems used during various football world cups. Listen to Glenn’s playlist here
  • South African gamer and YouTuber, Mister Flak’s playlist was also inspired by his love for gaming, and his love for all music genres and “the old stuff”. “Music is supposed to feed your mood and complement your gameplay experience,” he added. “Sometimes I want to relax; sometimes I want to rock out.” Listen to Mister Flak’s playlist here
  • Jannie Jordaan, gamer and Xbox ambassador, created a playlist that was curated by the XboxPlayersSA community, where each member chose one song that they believe is the ultimate gaming track. Jannie explained that “gaming is always better when you’re listening to a great track. With Spotify as a native application o‌n Xbox, you can play your game and listen to your Spotify playlist at the same time.” Listen to Jannie’s playlist here
