We are mere weeks away from the new console generation. Both the Xbox Series X and Series S, as well as the PlayStation 5, launches in November. Microsoft is leaning on the performance the Series X is promised to deliver in the first commercial, saying it will ‘power your dreams.’

They haven’t shied away from using top talent for its TV commercial either. The minute-long spot features British actor Daniel Kaluuya, known for his roles in Get Out and Black Panther.

As you would expect, Microsoft also utilises its most well-known property – Halo. Unfortunately, the upcoming Halo Infinite, originally announced to launch with the Series X and the Series S, has been delayed to 2021.

There have been several differences in how Sony and Microsoft have promoted the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, respectively. This advert from Microsoft comes nearly two months after Sony started advertising the PlayStation 5 on TV. The Xbox was given to tech journalists as a plastic mock-up last month, with the actual console being delivered to the community in working order recently. Sony hasn’t managed to do anything of the kind – the worries persist that the manufacturing of the PlayStation 5 won’t be ready for launch (as we’ve already seen pre-orders only being limited numbers).

Interestingly, according to online search reports, the interest for the PlayStation 5 seems to be higher than the Xbox Series X even though (or perhaps as a result of) very little information being shared. Latest rumours also claim that the software on the PlayStation 5 is still so fresh that it uses almost 200GB of the 825GB of on-board SSD storage, although there is no confirmation thereof.
