ASUS launches the monster, R90,000 ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 gaming laptop

It has been a busy couple of months for ASUS – last month they launched 5 new laptops in the South African market, one of which we have already reviewed, the ASUS ProArt StudioBook 17. Now they have just launched the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15, the pinnacle of their range of gaming laptops.

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) unveiled the Zephyrus Duo 15 using many of their tried and tested technologies, including innovative dual screen functionality, similar to what can be found on the ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo. The Zephyrus Duo 15 integrates two displays in a thin form factor to bring a new dimension of versatility to premium gaming laptops, without sacrificing any of the high-powered performance that defines ROG.

The new ROG headliner has a 15.6-inch primary display, offering 4K UHD high-resolution. It delivers high-quality gaming experiences, but also suits creators and content producers for everyday workflows. The display also features NVIDIA’s G-Sync technology for better gaming performances.

The highlight comes in the form of the ROG ScreenPad Plus (again, borrowed from the Duo Pro), which is a second, 14.1″ screen with 3840 × 1100px resolution. It can be used in a variety of ways. Users can play games with overlayed apps from Overwolf to let you see real-time stats, build recommendations and much more. The ScreenPad can keep you in touch with team chats, streaming controls, patch notes, browser windows or any other multitasking app you may need at your disposal.

With a gaming laptop, your first and foremost concern is going to be performance in games, of course. Therefore you need high-end specs, and here the Zephyrus Duo 15 has you more than covered.

It comes with the latest 10th-generation Intel® Core™ i9 CPU with clock speeds up to 5.3Ghz on a single core, with up to 16 parallel threads with Hyper-Threading technology to make multitasking a breeze. The device also supports up to 48GB of DDR4-3200 RAM. It also has two NVMe PCIe x4 SSDs run in RAID 0 to provide high-speed storage options. Importantly, you GPU needs are not neglected either. It comes with the top-of-the-line NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER GPU for fast and fluid graphics.
