Samsung to launch four phones alongside Galaxy Note 20

We are only weeks away from Samsung’s Galaxy Note 20 Unpacked event. We have been aware of the potential launch of devices like the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and the Galaxy Fold 2, although it seems there may be more to come.

In a new Samsung blog post, we get some additional information that teases a more involved event than we were expecting. The head of Mobile Communications Business at Samsung, TM Roh, said:

“At this summer’s Galaxy Unpacked, we’ll be introducing five new power devices. These devices deliver on our vision to be the innovator of new mobile experiences that flow seamlessly and continuously wherever we go. They combine power with seamless functionality, whether you’re at work or play, at home or away. In the Next Normal, you will be empowered to live life to the fullest with these devices in your hand (and in your ears, and on your wrist.)”

We are expecting three variants of the Galaxy Note 20 – namely the Galaxy Note 20, Note 20 Plus and Note 20 Ultra – at the event. Presumably this is counted as a single family of devices. Throwing in the Fold 2 and the Z Flip 5G, that leaves two. Recent leaks and rumours have pointed towards the other two – we will be getting a new smartwatch and the Galaxy Buds Live.

The Galaxy Buds Live is a new wireless set of earbuds that is rumoured to include active noise-cancellation. According to schematic leaks, they will be oddly bean-shaped and deliver a unique experience.

We’re unsure of what the new smartwatch will be, but it is presumable a new Galaxy Watch (non-Active). We have for some time been hearing that the rotating bezel will be coming back, and perhaps we’re getting the much anticipated Galaxy Watch 3.
