Schematics out Apple's next iPhone – big changes are incoming

Leaked schematics and illustrations from factory workers have revealed the form of Apple’s iPhone 8, showing fresh changes to the handset’s design.

The Apple rumour mill kicks into overdrive ahead of the company’s reveal of a new iPhone every September, and one consistent allegation we’ve seen this year is that the iPhone 8 – or iPhone Edition – will sport a radical redesign that, while paying homage to the original iPhone, will bring some new additions to the table.
Two independent reports have now emerged that picture Apple’s new iPhone in full; one stems from a leaked schematics document that pictures a handset with a vertical camera layout, while another arrives courtesy of a factory worker’s illustrations of the handset which is reportedly in production.

Both reports corroborate several points; Apple’s iPhone 8 might well accomodate a vertical rear camera mount with a dual-camera array, while the handset would further sport two front-facing cameras for the purpose of facial recognition.

Other reports have indicated that Apple is working to introduce 3D features on the next iPhone’s selfie camera that could not only be used for the purpose of biometric security, but might also amount to a ‘3D selfie’ feature of sorts.

Another noticeable similarity is the fact that both the illustration and schematic highlight an edge-to-edge screen as well as the absence of Apple’s classic Home button.
It has been suggested that the iPhone 8 might well drop a capacative Home button in favour of a soft-touch button, which might force Apple’s Touch ID sensor beneath the device’s primary display.
