A smaller variant of Xiaomi’s near bezel-less smartphone, the Mi Mix Nano, has leaked out revealing a minimized 5.5″ form factor.
Xiaomi stole headlines earlier this month with the debut of the Mi Mix; a near bezel-less smartphone that demonstrated just what smartphones could look like in the future. Now, a smaller version of that device – dubbed the Mi Mix Nano – has been revealed in new images.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix boasts a 93.1 screen-to-body ratio, placing a 6.4″ screen in the footprint of a 6″ device. While the device looks decidedly futuristic, it seems Xiaomi fears that it might be slightly too large for many interested consumers – something the company’s behemoth Mi Max is renowned for.

Thus, the Mi Mix Nano would supposedly sport a 5.5″ display in the footprint of a 5″ device, placing it closer in size to the iPhone 7 or Galaxy S7 Edge.
The Mi Mix Nano reportedly won’t skimp on specs; the device allegedly comes armed with a Snapdragon 821 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage.
The handset would reportedly utilise the same strategy as found on the larger Mi Mix to maximise its screen-to-body ratio; the device’s front facing camera would be found on its bottom chin, while it will house an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and piezoelectric speaker underneath its display.
The device would reportedly be launched in the first week of December, though there’s no clarification if we can expect to see the handset out of its local territory in China.
