The official, full-length trailer for Rogue One – A Star Wars Story has been released, featuring glimpses of heroes and villains alike.
The Bandwidth Blog team are unashamed Star Wars nuts, and we’re more excited than ever that the official trailer for the latest installment of the saga – Rogue One: A Star Wars Story – has officially been released.
Starring an esemble cast lead by Felicity Jones, Rogue One tells the story of how the Rebel Alliance stole the plans of the Empire’s most devastating weapon – the Death Star. The film will reportedly close just ten minutes before the events of the first ever Star Wars film – Episode IV: A New Hope – take place.

The trailer features expanded scenes which were first teased in several smaller build-up trailers. In it, we see Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso tasked with a mission to disover what the Empire is up to, as well as glimpses of the film’s heroes – Cassian Andor, Bodhi Rook, Chirrut ÃŽmwe, Baze Malbus, Saw Gerrera, and the sardonic droid K-2SO.
However, most of the hype is dedicated to the presence of Star Wars’ greatest villian. Darth Vader is briefly pictured gazing at Death Star schematics, while Ben Mendelsohn’s Director Orson Krennic is seen quite prominently. The teaser further throws in additional scenes depicting never-before-seen Death Troopers, and a moment where an iconic AT-AT walker recieves a rocket to the face.
Star Wars fans are in for months of joy, as Rogue One – A Star Wars Story will release in cinemas this December, while the next installment in the core saga, the tentatively untiled Episode VIII, will release just months later in May of 2017.
