Pokemon Go servers go down after reported hack by PoodleCorp

Pokemon Go servers have gone down after a DDoS attack reportedly instigated by PoodleCorp disabled access to the online augmented reality game.

If you’ve experienced difficulty logging in and playing  the world’s new favourite augmented reality game this weekend, here’s why – Pokemon Go servers went down after a massive DDos attack on Saturday morning, which was reportedly launched by a collective known as PoodleCorp.
PoodleCorp took responsibility for the attack on Twitter, where it threatened a larger scale offensive as many players took to the platform to express their frustration in accessing the title.

Since the attack, Pokemon Go servers have repeatedly failed and have denied many players the ability to log in and play the game. Some players have reported wait times of 10 minutes or greater, while others have been caught in a loop during character creation.
The official presence of Pokemon Go on Twitter, @PokemonGoApp, reached out to its community shortly thereafter and promised that server issues would soon be resolved.

Pokemon Go servers have struggled to keep up with the demand for the game; Niantec elected to proceed with a slow rollout to ensure that its equipment could sustain the impact of thousands of new clients, but thus far hasn’t been able to keep pace with the enormous popularity of the title worldwide.
The app officially launched in the UK just last week, nearly 10 days after its initial rollout. If you fancy playing Pokemon Go, check out our handy guide to installing the title on your iOS or Android device, and be sure to check out our Pokemon Go tips and tricks.
