Specifications for three of BlackBerry’s upcoming smartphones – codenamed Argon, Neon, and Mercury, have leaked ahead of their official launch.
BlackBerry‘s future just keeps on getting more interesting. According to a new leak the company – which allegedly planned to produce three follow-ups to the premium Priv – seems to now be preparing three new devices named Argon, Neon, and Mercury for imminent release.
The leak posits individual speaks for each smartphone, and cites that each device will target ‘a range of form factors and price points’.
BlackBerry Neon
As we’ve previously seen indicated, the BlackBerry Neon could the most affordable smartphone out of the company’s incoming crop of devices.
Reportedly sharing a chassis and many external features with the Alcatel Idol 4 (TCL Communications, as the company is otherwise known, will produce the device) the Neon is said to sport a 5.2″ touch screen panel with a 1080p resolution.
Powered by a Snapdragon 617 SoC, the Neon is said to include 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 2610mAh battery, and a 13 and 8-megapixel camera split.
The BlackBerry Neon will reportedly target both enterprise and consumer markets at ‘a competitive price’.

BlackBerry Mercury
The BlackBerry Mercury – according to speculation – might only see a formal reveal in the first quarter of 2017.
Allegedly, the Mercury will incorporate a fixed QWERTY keyboard in the style of elder BlackBerry models,and will include a 4.5″ screen with a 1080 display. Reportedly, this will arrive in a fairly square 3:2 aspect ration.
Internally, the Mercury will make use of a Snapdragon 625 SoC, and will be complemented by 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 3,400mAh battery, and an 18 and 8-megapixel camera split.
The Mercury will reportedly slot in-between the low-end Neon and high-end Argon. Due to its fixed QWERTY keyboard, the device will likely be aimed towards enterprise users.

BlackBerry Argon
The BlackBerry Argon looks to be the premium end of the range, and will benefit from a generous series of specs. It is unclear at this point as to whether the Argon might replace the Priv or slot underneath it in BlackBerry’s product lineup.
The BlackBerry Argon will reportedly include a 5.5″ full touchscreen at QHD resolution – the same as the BlackBerry Priv.
Internally, the Argon is reported to bear a Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and a 3,000mAh battery.
The Argon might further include Quick Charge 3.0, a fingerprint reader and USB Type-C connectivity, as well as a 21 and 8-megapixel camera split.
The Argon will likely be positioned towards enterprise and enthusiast customers as the Priv was.
