Apple has gifted limited edition Apple Watch bands to employees attending the LGBT Pride parade in San Francisco.
Apple has celebrated the LGBT Pride parade in San Francisco by gifting employees with limited edition Apple Watch bands.
The bands themselves have been gifted to employees attending Pride, and feature a rainbow coloured nylon strap and red lugs.

Apple provided a brief message to employees who received the band, reading:
“Apple’s first Diversity Network Association, Pride, turns 30 this year and we’re thrilled to celebrate this tremendous milestone with you! As recognition for everyone who registered to participate in a Pride event this year we created something special. This limited-edition band is a symbol of our commitment to equality and we hope you‘ll wear it with pride“.
Apple is unlikely to sell the Pride Apple watch bands, although several similar third party models do exist.

Apple CEO Tim Cook, who formally came out as gay in October of 2014, attended the event and took several pictures with his fellow employees.
Cook discussed his sexual orientation a letter in Business Week, in part of which the Apple CEO stated that “œI‘m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me…Plenty of colleagues at Apple know I‘m gay, and it doesn‘t seem to make a difference in the way they treat me.“
Apple has a history of giving gifts to its employees; last year, the company gave a free Apple Music subscription as part of its Christmas celebrations.
