After all the flagship madness over the last couple of weeks LG calms things down by unveiling the LG K5 and K8 mid-range devices.
Yeah we know, it’s not the G-series, but the mid-range smartphone market is where a lot of manufacturers make the moola. The K-series is the new catch-all for LG‘s mid-range phones this year. After all of the MWC flagship madness LG has come to their senses and has officially introduced their “value-for-money” products.

The K5 has a “œsleek, metallic body“ and has a 5-inch screen at 854 x 480 resolution. There‘s quad-core processor running at 1.3GHz max, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage with a microSD slot available and 1,900 mAh removable battery. The five-megapixel camera on back is paired with a two-megapixel front facing cam. The K5 will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop.
On the K8 side – it gets a few upgrades. The screen jumps into 720p territory (still 5-inch) and both cameras up their megapixels to 8 and 5 respectively. You will get 1.5GB of RAM (only on the EU and North American units – so probably SA as well) and the battery has a larger 2,125 mAh capacity. You will also get NFC and the OS is upgraded to Android Marshmallow.
