According to new rumours, Apple’s next 4″ smartphone, the iPhone SE, could cost between $400-500 USD and feature a 12 megapixel primary camera.
KGI Securities is the source behind a swathe of new information surrounding Apple’s forthcoming iPhone SE, and a new report suggests that the device could be far more pricey than expected.
As our very own Jaco van der Walt said in Bandwidth Blog On Air, a key move for Apple will be to ensure consumer interest in developing markets; however, the company’s upcoming smartphone might be too expensive for some.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at KGI, issued a research note to investors detailing points of interest around the company’s 4″ iPhone; citing that it will have similar hardware specs to the iPhone 6S, including an A9 chip and support for Apple Pay.
With a form factor that is expected to be similar to the iPhone 5s, the SE will apparently feature 16GB and 64GB storage capacities, as will as a 1,642mAh battery and support for Live Photos.
Presently, the iPhone 5s sells for $450 USD at retail, with a report from MacRumors clarifying that Apple could position the iPhone SE in this price bracket and instead halve the price of the 5s.
