Sony has been listening, and for consumers who love the company’s premium products but don’t enjoy the price, there’s now the Xperia X range.
Sony’s had a quiet presence in the build up to MWC 2016, and now we know why; the company has released a new, value-for-money Xperia X range pitched at those who want a quality device but can’t afford a Z series flagship.
The Xperia X range is positioned as a series of ‘super premium mid-range’ devices, and each includes a 5″ full HD display with a quad-core Snapdragon 820 device.

Incorporating other premium features, such as a 2,700mAh battery, 3GB of RAM, and a 23 and 13 megapixel camera split on the top-of-the-line Xperia X Performance model, the range would seemingly live up to Sony’s promises.
The remaining two devices in the lineup include the Xperia XA and Xperia X; the former of which includes secretive specifications – most notably so far, a hexa-core processor – while the latter includes a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset, 2GB of RAM, a 5″ 720p screen, a 13 and 8 megapixel camera split, a 2,300mAh battery, and 16GB of expandable storage.
Each device in the series will arrive running Android 5.0 Marshmallow, and will release worldwide within the coming months.
