Say hello to Microsoft SwiftKey: Microsoft has purchased the popular third party keyboard, shortly after bringing its Word Flow keyboard to iOS.
So, how does Microsoft SwiftKey roll off the tongue?
Following the news that Microsoft is set to bring its Word Flow keyboard to iOS, new reports show that the Redmond company has acquired SwiftKey, one of the most popular third party keyboards on both iOS and Android.

The acquisition, however, isn’t just limited to Microsoft taking over the app itself; SwiftKey’s AI now belongs to the company as well, and could be used in-house in future projects – one of which could be to improve Word Flow.
Microsoft’s Executive Vice President of Technology, Harry Shum, has confirmed that the company will continue to develop SwiftKey’s app for both iOS and Android while exploring new options for integrating SwiftKey’s technology across other products.
Shum elaborated by stating that the move “further demonstrates Microsoft’s desire to bring key apps and technologies to platforms from Windows to Android to iOS”.
