Apple adds amazing features to GarageBand with 2.1 update

The GarageBand update provides a face-lift to the interface and includes new recording controls, automation features and a simplified EQ. Now anyone can become a rockstar!

Harking back to their music roots, Apple has introduced several new features on their GarageBand and Music Memos apps. Your iPhone is now the world’s smallest soundboard thanks to new studio-simulated iOS apps. The Music Memos target the more musically gifted among us and is able to analyze rhythm and chords of acoustic guitar and piano recordings, then instantly add drums and a bass line.
The virtual backup band on GaragBand can be customised to the user’s preference. Apple states that the recording uses the iPhone‘s built-in microphone in a high-quality, uncompressed format.
Aspiring musciains can now also use Music Memos to name, tag and rate their recorded tracks. You can now use iCloud to further develop recordings in GarageBand and Logic Pro X, or simply stick them straight on Apple Music Connect. The 2.1 update also introduces Live Loops, allowing anyone to trigger different looped instruments and samples. The samples include genres like EDM, Hip Hop, Dubstep and Rock, but you can also create your own loops from scratch.
Another nifty new feature is the ability to add a drummer to any recorded track, the app will analyse your rhythm and allow you to add any one of nine EDM and acoustic virtual drummers. The GarageBand interface has also received a face-lift and includes new recording controls, automation features and a simplified EQ. Now anyone can become a rockstar!
