Pre-orders for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset will open shortly on midnight the 6th of January, for a cost of $999.99 USD.
Following the introduction of the Oculus Rift via a Kickstarter campaign in August of 2012, the virtual reality headset has succeeded in capturing the world’s imagination. Now, the headset is set to be available for pre-order.
The Rift headset, which was officially acquired by Facebook last year, is set to be available for pre-order following midnight this Wednesday the 6th of January.
Presently, no details have been provided by the company as to which locales the Oculus Rift will be set to deliver to following the opening of pre-orders, nor has information regarding a final shipping date been offered.
The Rift is set to be bundled with two games, namely Lucky Tale and EVE: Valkyrie. The headset’s touch controllers, however, have been delayed to an unspecified launch date set for sometime in Q2 2016.
