Rumours: LG G Flex 3 is cancelled

According to a new report from LG, the company has axed a potential G Flex 2 in favour of a V10 successor slated for release next year.

News out of South Korea paints a disheartening picture; LG Electronics may have decided to axe its G Flex lineup in order to produce a successor to the high-end V10.
Previously, rumours had indicated that LG had slated the G Flex 3 for release in March next year, which would be unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2016; the timing of which would be almost a year since the launch of the G Flex 2 in Cape Town.
The allegedly axed device would have included a Snapdragon 820 chipset, a 6″ QHD touchscreen, and an all-metal construction.
The rumours follow from leaked reports of the LG G5 earlier last week, which indicated that the device could be made official in April 2016.
The Flex 2 was an keystone device for the company, which, along with the flagship G3, helped determine the company’s design language which has been introduced to all new G series products.
The V10 successor which would take the place of the G Flex 3 would likely be released in the second half of 2016 – again, nearly one year after the release of the V10 which was officially unveiled earlier this year.
