Minecraft slated to arrive on the Wii U

Minecraft may be one of the best examples of a cross-platform title; available on consoles, Windows PCs, Macs, iOS, Android, and more. Now, Mojang’s magnum opus is set to arrive on the Wii U.
The Japanese game maker confirmed today that Minecraft will finally arrive on the Wii U on the 17th of December, alongside a variety of digital-addons set to foster the Christmas spirit, or simply allow players to play with characters from the likes of Star Wars all the way to Dr Who.
Further, Mojang has confirmed that Minecraft for Wii U will make use of the console’s Off-TV Play feature, and will let users transfer their worlds to their GamePad controller while another family member or friend takes control of the TV.
The title is set to release on the Nintendo eShop in North America next week, and will set consumers back $30 USD.
