Samsung might be partnering with Google to optimise TouchWiz

The Android “skin” has had a love-hate relationship with smartphone consumers for years now. Depending on who you ask you might find statements of utter admiration to ultimate disgust when Android skins are discussed. Whether we‘re talking about device slowdown, or just a negative impact on battery life, there are a lot of ways we wish some of these UIs were better optimized. TouchWiz, the Samsung Android skin, is probably the most controversial one out there.
A new rumor however might bring some good news to those Samsung users that hate the current TouchWiz UI. Reports indicate that Samsung may work with Google in an effort to super-charge TouchWiz. Samsung‘s already made some big strides towards streamlining TouchWiz in modern releases, but this rumors suggests that it‘s about to take that effort even further and go right to the Android-source in an effort to get things working even better.
What is not clear yet is whether Samsung is just interested in performance-related improvements from Google‘s contributions, or if it also might be asking the company for its advice on the design and operation of TouchWiz. The rumors are very vague currently, but we may just see a great improvement in Samsung’s UI in their upcoming devices.
