Huawei may have just recently unveiled the Mate S – the newest flagship amongst Huawei’s growing legion of premium contenders – the company doesn’t appear to be finished with its 2015 product releases just yet.
New leaks depict the forthcoming Huawei Mate 8 in all angles – for the first time revealing what the official follow up to the Mate 7 will look like.
The Mate 8 continues to improve upon Huawei’s design language, and incorporates the same metal edges that have adorned the P8 and Mate S before it. From the leaked renders, it would appear that the Mate 8 will arrive in three colour configurations – silver, gold, and bronze.
Further, the renders confirm that the Mate 8 will employ a fingerprint sensor underneath its primary camera, similarily to the Mate S, and two speaker grills surround the USB port on the device’s bottom panel.
An interesting addition to the design of the Mate line is that the Mate 8 appears to have little int he way of bezels – indicating that the device might sport some form of 2.5D glass, and pack a greatly improved display-to-body ratio.
The Mate 8 has been tipped to carry Huawei’s new Kirin 950 processor, which employs an interesting mix of four high-performance Cortex A72 cores and four low-power Cortex A53 cores; leaving the Mate 8 with an Octa-core processor in total.
Present speculation posits that the Mate 8 could carry a 1080 screen, a 16MP or 20MP primary camera with dual-LED flash, an 8MP primary camera, 3 or 4GB of RAM, and up to 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. Lastly, the device is expected to carry a 4,100mAh battery and will debut with Android 6.0 Lollipop.
