Try the new Microsoft "Edge" browser without Windows 10

The world has been revolving around the launch of Windows 10 the last couple of weeks. One of the featured attractions is the new “Edge” browser. The browser has been available to Windows 10 users since its release on July 29, if you haven’t been given the chance to update to the new OS yet (or you simply don’t want to), here’s a way you can still try out the browser.
Yesterday Microsoft announced that free virtual machines (VMs) of Windows 10 are available and will come supporting its new Edge browser. It will also include all future updates. Microsoft stated in a blog post – “With this release, we have automated the process we use to create the virtual machines, so future updates will be available more quickly as the platform is updated.”
These Windows 10 virtual machines are available on Windows computers through Hyper-V 2012, Virtual Box and VMware. Apple Mac users can access the VMs using Parallels, VirtualBox and VMware and those running Linux will only be able to connect via VirtualBox.
For those not familiar with virtual machines (or hypervisors), here is a description of VirtualBox: “It supports the creation and management of guest virtual machines running versions and derivations of Windows, Linux, BSD, OS/2, Solaris, Haiku, OSx86 and others, and limited virtualization of OS X guests on Apple hardware”.
Microsoft has also confirmed that the availability of the Edge browser in Microsoft’s Azure RemoteApp service will be added later. Whilst this is a nice gesture by Microsoft it has to be noted that the VMs will only be available for 90 days after your first connection.
