It‘s strange to think that it‘s been more than 9 months now, but that is how long ago we first saw the oddity from Samsung that was the Galaxy Note Edge. It was launched as another variant of the very popular Galaxy Note 4, with one side of the screen curved.
As we though, it seems that this device may have been a one-off; an experiment of sorts. Certainly it seems that the experiment worked, because Samsung incorporated the design ideas in its newest flagship ““ or at least alongside it ““ in the form of the Galaxy S6 Edge. It is arguably better than the Galaxy S6 because of its improved looks.
According to reports, we will only see the Galaxy Note 5 at the 2015 IFA with no Galaxy Note Edge 2 alongside. We are expecting the Note 5 to pack a 5.9-inch display with QHD resolution (1440 x 2560 pixels), Exynos 7422 processor, 4,100mAh battery, and below eight millimetre profile.
While the Note Edge 2 might not exist, we have heard rumours of a supposed Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, a larger variant of the Galaxy S6 Edge.
It would make sense to add an S-Pen to that package, which would in fact just make it a Galaxy Note Edge 2 with a double curved display. Perhaps they only dropped the latter name because of the strange naming convention, and we might still see comparable device.
