New iPhone 6s rumours: 12MP camera, new rose gold model

As the iPhone rumour mill once again begins to turn, new details have emerged pegging a host of improvements over Apple’s incumbent smartphone, the iPhone 6, in the latest batch of iPhone 6s rumours.
Specifically, rumours pinpoint that the 6s will arrive in a new rose gold colour option, sport a 12 megapixel camera, and carry 2 gigabytes of RAM, among other details.

The news comes courtesy of AppleInsider, from a recent research note detailing a list of changes planned for Apple’s upcoming iPhone upgrade.
While it still isn’t clear if Apple intends to produce an “s” model or move straight into iPhone 7 production – as some sources have attested – new rumours suggest that Apple seems to be intent on producing a vastly upgraded smartphone following from 2014’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
It is unclear at present whether a new “rose gold” colour option might follow suit with the Apple Watch and represent a luxury model produced with actual gold; the premium 18-karat gold Apple Watch Edition sells for a cool $10,000 USD.

Physical changes may also arrive with the 6s: the new handset is alledged to feature a redesigned internal structure to address bending issues that primarily affected the iPhone 6 Plus, in addition to scratch-resistant sapphire covers and an additional microphone placed near the speaker grill to improve sound quality.
Further, it is rumoured that Apple might supplement its A9 processor with 2GBs of RAM – twice over than what was present in the iPhone 6 models, and introduce an improved Touch ID sensor.
Lastly, a final rumour speculates that Apple plans to upgrade its primary camera to a 12 megapixel sensor, up from the iPhone 6’s 8 megapixel rear cam. An earlier rumour has also cited that Apple intends to produce a dual-lens camera for an upcoming iPhone to enable quick re-focussing post capture, as on the HTC One M8.
While there’s no confirmation at present as to what a new iPhone might look like, one designer has rendered his own concept of a possible iPhone 6s, including many present rumours in the design.
