Apple confirms 2015 WWDC dates

2015 WWDC dates
Due to high demand, Apple has opened ticket applications as of today, and will be accepting applications up until Friday the 17th of April. Apple is expected to showcase its itererant update to iOS, alongside a next-generation Apple TV carrying a brand new plethora of apps.

Though Apple traditionally has used WWDC as a means to showcase its software development, this hasn’t stopped the company from launching hardware at the event, either. The company’s tagline for the conference has been revealed as “The Epicenter of Change” and promises to showcase the future of iOS and OS X.
Apple’s Philip Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide marketing, teased the possibility that iOS 9 will be showcased alongside OS 10.11. “The App Store ignited an app ecosystem that is simply amazing, forever changing the lives of customers and creating millions of jobs worldwide,” he said. “We’ve got incredible new technologies for iOS and OS X to share with developers at WWDC and around the world, and can’t wait to see the next generation of apps they create.”
The official conference badge – pictured – showcases traditional app squircles (square-circles) alongside round app icons as seen on the Apple Watch, suggesting Apple Watch software may tie in to the conference structure in some way.
Further, Apple has been rumoured to be feverishly at work developing its own television network, slated to arrive with a new Apple TV. Rumours pinpoint that Apple is in talks with major US networks, including Fox, ABC, and CBS, with the intention of securing channels such as ESPN and FX for its own network, positioned at a subscription of $30-$40 USD per month. Whether we will see any of this comes to fruition at WWDC remains to be seen.
In related – and more humorous – news, the company has also banned selfie sticks from appearing in any shape or form at the conference.
More as news and rumours begin to circulate.
