Twitter testing new "Quality Filter" which will remove abuse from your timeline

Twitter’s latest enhancement, called the “Quality Filter”,  will curate your timeline in an attempt to hide unwanted messages and avoid spam.

Social media has become a platform where everyone can speak their minds without worrying too much about the consequences. Twitter wars and abuse has become common place and sometimes it just isn’t worth it to open up your timeline and spoil your day. Twitter’s new tool, the quality filter, looks to redress that.
Well, after admitting that it’s failed to adequately combat abuse and harassment, Twitter has been moving swiftly to weed out its worst users. Or at the very least making them much easier to ignore…
Twitter’s latest enhancement, called the “Quality Filter”,  will curate your timeline in an attempt to hide unwanted messages. The filter aims to remove all tweets from your notifications timeline that contain threats, offensive or abuse language, duplicate content, or are sent from suspicious accounts. This enhancement was first spotted by Anil Dash, a regular user.Twitter_Abuse
According to a Twitter spokesperson the feature is currently available for verified users only. It uses filters similar to the “tailored” notifications that verified users previously could use. Last week, Twitter introduced changes to its harassment reporting tools that make it easier to alert authorities about threats to personal safety and flag other tweets that warrant immediate attention from law enforcement.
This future will definitely make your Twitter timeline and much happier place.
