Your promotions tab in the Gmail client may soon become a much more interesting place. Presently it functions as a glorified spam folder, but that might soon change. While it‘s not really spam, most emails that hit that folder are probably ignored, according to data from Google.
Google thinks that it might have a better chance at enticing you to click through on those deals if they were more visually appealing. Google is experimenting with a feature that would show your promotional emails as cards with large images depicting what they are for. Below the picture would be details about the deal.
