Last month we reported WhatsApp will add voice calls to its app, and we now have our first leak of what it might look like. The first leak is for the iOS version of WhatsApp, and for the first time it seems like we have concrete evidence that we will be getting this feature soon.
VoIP certainly isn‘t dead and many companies are adding this functionality. Many people around the world find it cheaper and more effective to use this method of communication over phone calls. The service will be added to WhatsApp by the middle of the year.
The leaked screenshots came from iPhoneItalia, and the interface looks perfectly in line with the current designs of iOS 7.1. You will be able to make calls for free over WiFi or cellular, which will help WhatsApp compete against the other VoIP apps and services available on the market.
