Since being acquired by Google in August 2012 Motorola will be launching its very first product in October 2013 along with other new devices.
The rumoured Moto X smartphone, formerly known as Google’s X Phone, was confirmed at the D11 conference yesterday by Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside who also revealed that it will be the first smartphone built in the U.S.
The smartphone will feature an organic LED display that will be thinner and lighter than older LCD displays.
Woodside also reveals that the device will feature always-on battery friendly sensors that will enable it to anticipate what a user is going to do based on the position of the phone be it in a pocket or inside a moving vehicle and subsequently trigger appropriate user interactions.
According to CNET, Woodside said that Motorola’s entire smartphone product line “will be revamped” and the upcoming launch of devices along with the Moto X will clearly demonstrate where the company is headed in the future.
