Google Play has had a very metro-like look for some time now, but that all comes to an end today. Slowly but surely over the next couple of hours you should receive an update notification for Google Play (if you haven‘t already). In today‘s announcement on the official Android blog, Google explains that the new look app is meant to be “œclean“ and “œsimple.“ The entertainment content will also be pushed into the foreground.
Larger images for music, book and movie content are evident and the UI is now dominated with very Google Now-like whites and greys. Google says the purchasing process has also been streamlined. This should lead to fewer taps within Play to buy apps or other content, making life easier for the user.
It will roll out for all devices running Android 2.2 Froyo and above, so there are a very small percentage of users who won‘t receive the update. Have you used the new Play Store? Let us know how you find the differences.
