Have you ever had your partner complete a sentence for you? Know what you’re going to say next? Well, SwiftKey knows what you’re going to type next. As long as you give it the same sort of insight into your life, that is.
SwiftKey is an Android based app that assists you with typing on your phone, and uses a touchpad keyboard in various formats (not only QWERTY) and in different languages. It utilizes predictive text, but not in the way you would think – it doesn’t just complete words for you, but rather learns from how you type to predict what you are going to write next.
By adding access to Twitter, Facebook, your email and more, SwiftKey records as you type and later can predict what you’d like to say. So, if you’re fine to add access to those platforms, the app will work like a bomb. But even if you don’t, it can still learn from what you’ve typed on your handset alone.
SwiftKey is a paid app, there is a test version for free, but after a month you’re forced to pay or keep it without any predictions. The verdict? I used SwiftKey for a month and within one week was barely typing anything – almost every single word was one of the three that the app predicted that I wanted.
The other great part of the app was the fact that you can adjust the keyboard in so many ways, even choosing the width of the keys on the keyboard and its colour, size, languages and more.
