Research In Motion (RIM) has announced that BlackBerry App World 3.0 is now available to download for its smartphone users. The improved version allows users to access a variety of applications, new interactive games and entertainment and personalise their smartphones with fresh themes much easier than before.
New features include:
- A sleek new design on the home screen will direct users to new and exciting applications and content with rotating spotlight banners.
- Applications, games and themes will now have their very own channels for easier and faster navigation and search results display.
- The introduction of ‘My Account’ allows for quick and simple payment options with direct access to personal account information.
- The ‘My World’ features will provide users with a streamlined view of seeing their current downloaded apps and status, installed and uninstalled apps and the management of all subscriptions and services.
- App World now has an easy access search bar for a quicker and easier search experience with results appearing across channels and ‘My World’. In addition, users can filter their search by app name, popularity, rating, best match, pricing and newest.
- The new Social Sharing option now gives users the tools to share an awesome app they’ve found with their friends through Facebook, BBM, Twitter, email or SMS.
- The evolved apps details screen lets users check out reviews, screen shots, star ratings and more!
BlackBerry smartphone users operating the BlackBerry OS 5.0+ will soon notice some on-device upgrade notifications in the next couple of days.
