Acer has unveiled a new gaming handheld concept at IFA 2026 called Project DualPlay Mini, a convertible device designed to transform from a portable console into a mini laptop. Released under the company’s gaming-focused Predator brand, the hybrid concept aims to bridge the gap between handheld gaming and traditional PC productivity within a single chassis.

The device utilizes a flip-and-swivel mechanism that allows users to transition between multiple input configurations. In its handheld setup, the Project DualPlay Mini offers a standard gamepad layout. When converted into its mini-laptop form factor, it provides a backlit keyboard and mouse setup intended for precision-demanding genres like first-person shooters and strategy games. The unit can also be connected to an external display for traditional workstation use.
To manage thermals, the concept incorporates the dual-fan cooling architecture used in the Predator Atlas 8. The back panel features custom “Acer 50 since 1976” lettering in celebration of the company’s 50th anniversary. As Project DualPlay Mini remains a concept device, Acer has not disclosed technical specifications, weight, or pricing, and there is no guarantee the hardware will eventually see a commercial release.
