While the “Jinju” glasses are not expected to include a built-in display, they are rumoured to feature a robust set of hardware:
- Chipset: Powered by the Snapdragon AR1 chip.
- Camera: Equipped with a 12MP camera for photos and video.
- Audio: Directional speakers utilizing bone-conduction technology.
- Software: The glasses will run on the Android XR wearables platform and feature deep integration with the Google Gemini chatbot.
The “Jinju” glasses are rumoured to cost between $380 and $500, though rising component costs for RAM and storage could push the final price higher.
While a launch date has not been confirmed, many expect a formal “tease” during Samsung’s Unpacked event in July, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Watch 9, with a full commercial release later in 2026. This follows the release pattern Samsung established with its Galaxy XR headset the previous year.
For those seeking a more visual experience, a second, more advanced pair of glasses is reportedly in development for 2027. Codenamed “Haean,” this model is expected to include a micro-LED display for augmented reality features, with an estimated price tag ranging from $600 to $900.
