Vodacom has announced the return of its popular “Buy and Get” promotion, which offers prepaid customers complimentary YouTube data when they buy specific data bundles. The promotion is available until September 30, 2025.

The mobile operator’s offer is a response to the growing trend of South Africans watching video content on their mobile devices. According to the company, there were 25 million YouTube users in the country at the start of 2025.
Customers can access the promotion through the VodaPay App or via USSD codes (*123# and *135#). The amount of free YouTube data you get depends on the type of bundle you purchase:
- 30-Day LTE Bundles:
- Buy a 5GB + 5GB LTE bundle for R99 and get an extra 5GB of YouTube data, both valid for 30 days.
- Buy a 10GB + 10GB LTE bundle for R149 and also get 5GB of YouTube data, both valid for 30 days.
- 7-Day & 30-Day Bundles:
- Buy a 7-day bundle starting from R19 to get a bonus YouTube data bundle valid for three days.
- Buy a 30-day bundle starting from R15 to receive a bonus YouTube data allocation valid for seven days.
Vodacom South Africa’s consumer business director, Rishaad Tayob, stated that the promotion is part of the company’s commitment to providing “affordable access to connectivity” and helping customers “live their best digital lives.”
