Poco, known for its budget-friendly devices, elevates its F-series with the F7 Ultra. The Snapdragon chip, coupled with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, promises exceptional performance. While the Redmagic 10 Pro offers the same chipset at a lower price, Poco’s smoother software and superior Android update commitment give it a broader appeal.
The F7 Ultra’s camera setup features a 50MP main (f/1.6), 50MP 2.5x telephoto, and 32MP ultrawide lens, along with a 32MP selfie camera. Initial testing reveals solid image quality with decent detail and dynamic range, though digital zoom introduces noise.
A 6.67-inch 1440p OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 5,300mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging enhance the user experience. Despite using Poco’s Shield Glass instead of Gorilla Glass, the phone maintains an IP68 rating for durability.
Available in eye-catching yellow or subtle black, the F7 Ultra features a sleek design with glossy camera detailing. Its slim 8.39mm profile belies its powerful internals.
Alongside the F7 Ultra, Poco launched the F7 Pro (£499), which uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. While it offers a larger 6,000mAh battery, it features slower 90W charging and lacks wireless charging. The camera system is also downgraded, with an 8MP ultrawide and 20MP selfie lens, and no telephoto option. Both models are available now in the UK and Europe.
