YouTube is expanding access to its Communities feature, a dedicated space for creators to connect with their fans directly within the platform. Initially launched last fall, Communities allows creators to post updates, share images, and engage in discussions with their audience, reducing the need for external platforms like Discord.

Accessible only via mobile devices, Communities are designed to foster deeper connections between creators and their fans. Creators can monitor and moderate community interactions through a dedicated “Community Hub” in the YouTube Studio app. This hub provides a centralized view of all community activity, including fan comments and discussions.
To enhance clarity, YouTube is renaming the existing “Community” tab to “Posts.” The “Posts” tab will continue to function as before, allowing creators to share updates and announcements while viewers can engage by commenting.
Access to Communities remains invitation-only. Creators will receive invitations via email and banners on their channel pages within the YouTube app. Once invited, creators can access the “Go to Community” section to learn more and enable the feature.
This expansion of the Communities feature demonstrates YouTube’s commitment to providing creators with tools to build stronger relationships with their audience and foster a thriving community within the platform.
