Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters revealed plans to expand its cloud gaming service, introducing couch co-op and party games streamed directly to TVs. This news, shared during the company’s Q4 2024 earnings call, signals a continued commitment to cloud gaming, which has been available in beta to select subscribers since 2023.

Peters envisions this new direction as “a successor to family board game night or an evolution of what the game show on TV used to be,” hinting at a social and interactive gaming experience.
While specifics on release dates remain unclear, Netflix will also continue to develop “more narrative games based on Netflix IP,” acknowledging their popularity among fans.
These developments come amidst significant changes within the company’s gaming division. Following the departure of executive Leanne Loombe to Annapurna Interactive and the appointment of a new head, Netflix has undergone restructuring, including the closure of its AAA studio and the removal of most interactive titles.
