Tario 892, a subsidiary of African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM), already holds significant stakes in MetroFibre and Octotel, both leading providers of fibre-optic infrastructure in South Africa. RSAWeb, a prominent ISP, offers a range of services, including fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) and fibre-to-the-business (FTTB) connectivity, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise solutions.
The Competition Commission determined that this acquisition is unlikely to substantially lessen competition in the market.
This transaction signifies a significant step forward for AIIM in expanding its footprint in the South African telecommunications sector. AIIM, along with its partners STOA and Thebe Investment Corporation, aims to drive connectivity and foster digital growth across the country.
This acquisition builds upon Actis’ successful investment in Octotel, demonstrating the growing importance of digital infrastructure in South Africa.
