The launch utilized seven powerful BE-4 engines to propel the rocket into space. While the first stage booster successfully descended towards its landing platform, communication was lost during the final stages of the landing attempt.

Despite this setback, the successful orbital insertion of the second stage and payload demonstrates the significant progress made by Blue Origin in developing this powerful launch vehicle. The company plans to learn from this mission and iterate on the landing system for future launches.

New Glenn, with its substantial carrying capacity, is poised to compete directly with SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy in the commercial space launch market. This launch further solidifies Blue Origin’s position as a major player in the space industry, with its sights set on supporting Amazon’s Project Kuiper satellite internet constellation and other ambitious space ventures.
