This move signifies a significant milestone for Showmax, which was relaunched last year in partnership with NBCUniversal. The platform utilizes the same streaming technology that powers NBCUniversal’s popular US-based streaming service, Peacock.

Showmax Chief Marketing Officer Yatish Narsi emphasized the company’s ambition, stating, “Showmax doesn’t just aim to be the best in Africa; we aim to take our place among the best in the world.” The live-streamed concert is a key step towards achieving this global aspiration.

This initiative underscores Showmax’s commitment to providing its subscribers with a diverse and engaging entertainment experience, further solidifying its position as a leading streaming platform in the African market.
