Leaked images from renowned tech insider Evan Blass reveal that Lenovo’s upcoming sixth-generation ThinkBook Plus will boast a groundbreaking feature: a rollable display. Building upon the “rollable” laptop concept first showcased in 2022, this innovative design allows the screen to extend and unroll, effectively creating two stacked displays.

The images depict a standard laptop with a slightly elongated screen that can seamlessly expand. Lenovo envisions applications such as conducting video calls on the top portion while simultaneously working on a presentation or document on the lower display. The possibilities for this versatile setup are virtually limitless.
While specific technical details remain under wraps, the imminent CES 2025 event in January strongly suggests an official unveiling is imminent.
Lenovo has a history of pushing the boundaries of laptop design. Recent examples include the Auto Twist, a laptop with a self-rotating and folding display showcased at CES 2024, and the Yoga Book 9i, a unique device featuring two separate touchscreens.
Rollable displays have primarily been confined to smartphone prototypes and high-end televisions. If Lenovo can successfully bring this technology to the laptop market at an accessible price point while ensuring durability and reliability, they could have a game-changing product on their hands. However, considering the previous ThinkBook Plus model, a hybrid Windows/Android device, launched at a starting price of $2,000, affordability may not be a given.
