The Courier Bakkie service, accessible through the Uber app, enables users to transport items weighing up to a tonne. This is particularly useful for moving furniture, appliances, or other bulky goods.

“South Africans love their bakkies for their practicality and versatility,” said Mnotho Mtshali, Uber’s Senior Operations Manager for the Middle East and Africa. “We’re excited to expand our product offering and provide a convenient solution for transporting larger items.”

Initially, the service will be available in Johannesburg, with plans to expand to Cape Town and Durban in the near future.

By partnering with SkyNet Worldwide Express, Uber aims to ensure safe and reliable delivery services. This collaboration leverages SkyNet’s extensive experience in the courier industry to provide efficient and professional delivery solutions.

This new service is expected to benefit both individual consumers and small businesses. By reducing the time and effort required for deliveries, entrepreneurs can focus on growing their businesses.
